Travel Document Information
We look forward to welcoming you to the ILTS Congress 2026, taking place May 6–9, 2026, in Geneva, Switzerland.
Switzerland applies the Schengen visa regime, and entry requirements depend on your nationality and country of residence, meaning that some participants may require a visa to enter Switzerland, while others may be exempt.
As visa and travel requirements may vary by individual situation and may change over time, all participants are strongly encouraged to consult official Swiss government sources to confirm their specific travel document requirements before making any travel arrangements.
Check Your Travel Requirements
Use the official Swiss government tools below to determine whether you require a visa to enter Switzerland:
Schengen Visa Information
- Switzerland is part of the Schengen Area. Short stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period are subject to Schengen entry rules.
Depending on your nationality, you may be required to apply for a short-stay Schengen visa (Type C) before travelling to Switzerland. Other nationalities may be exempt from visa requirements for short stays.
Visa requirements are determined solely by Swiss authorities. ILTS and the event organizers do not define or modify visa rules.
- For accurate and up-to-date information, please always refer to official Swiss government websites.
Visa Invitation Letter
The ILTS organizers provide visa support letters only to registered and fully paid participants.
If you require an official invitation letter to support your visa application:
You must complete your congress registration in full.
During the registration process, you will be asked whether you require a visa invitation letter.
If requested, you will be required to upload a copy of your passport.
Once registration and payment are confirmed, the visa invitation letter will be automatically sent by email.
Please note that a visa support or invitation letter:
Is issued solely to support a visa application.
Does not guarantee visa approval.
Does not represent a financial commitment by ILTS or the event organizers.
Important Information
Visa approval decisions are made exclusively by Swiss immigration authorities.
Neither ILTS, the Congress organizers, nor MCI can influence visa outcomes.
Processing times vary by country and individual circumstances.
The organizers cannot provide estimated processing times or expedite visa applications.
Applicants are responsible for monitoring the status of their visa application through the official Swiss visa system.
Participants are advised to begin the visa application process as early as possible after completing their registration.
